Our Culture
At Micah 6 Community, we value employees who align with our cultural principles. These are the values we live by:
Relationships First: We prioritize relationships over projects and neighbors above all else. Our goal is to leave every interaction positive and to foster lasting friendships through our work.
Figure It Out: We’re self-starters who embrace challenges. There’s no easy way to do this work, and we believe in our abilities to solve problems and make progress.
Innovate/Take Risks: “Give it a shot” is a guiding phrase here. We encourage trying, failing, learning, and evolving. The only thing that isn’t an option is doing nothing.
Follow-Through: When we commit, we get it done. Consistency builds credibility, and we believe in being reliable and accountable to our community.
Opportunity: Our volunteers are essential to our work, including in the gardens, future community center, events, and more. Volunteer management, however, can often take a backseat to daily tasks. This position ensures volunteers are connected to meaningful projects and supported throughout their experience.
Skills Required
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
Top-notch customer service skills: Clear communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to create a welcoming, productive work environment.
Strong communication skills: This role serves as the bridge between our organization and the communities we serve. Excellent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions is essential.
Task-oriented approach: Ability to stay organized, track volunteer participation, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
